In case you wonder about the recent lack of newsletters: during my visit to Australia (end of June & early July) I did not use the internet much - the mobile connection was quite expensive, costing around 2€ per minute. And the hotel wi-fis were not always reliable or fast.
(Loved Australia and the friendly and laid-back people there! All problems were met with “No worries"!” and had I been a man I would most certainly have been called a “mate” multiple times.)
My day job and my mother's illness consumed much of my free time both before the trip and after coming home again. But things have improved since we were able to secure a spot for her in a 24/7 nursing home. Her illness hasn't magically gone away, but at least I no longer worry constantly about her falling or getting stuck somewhere unable to move. Parkinson's disease is a cruel thing.
I kept writing Nephilim Quest 5 while producing audio chapters of Nephilim Quest #1 Shadowhunter through Elevenlabs. The voice actors who have allowed the use of their cloned voices in audio books are compensated, and that was the determining factor for me selecting Elevenlabs as my digital narration platform. I produce the chapters in a "radio-drama" style, which entails assigning unique voices to each character.
As promised, I will be posting the entire book (and future books) as audio chapters on my Substack page. This means you may receive multiple posts from me in the upcoming days. If you are uninterested in these posts, feel free to delete the email.
The first six chapters are available for free listening and reading, but paid subscribers (5$/month) will have access to the remaining chapters. By subscribing, you will be able to enjoy all of my published books on Substack, just as you would if you were to buy them individually. Every subscription helps me cover the costs associated with being an independent author, including editing, covers, and marketing expenses, which I pay for out of my own pocket
Once the Nephilim Quest #1 Shadowhunter and the rest of the series are complete, they will also be available as audiobooks for download on Bookfunnel. I'll inform you as each book becomes available.
