Hi!
I’ve got something magical—and just a little bit mischievous—to share today…
🎉 Magic Diary, the first book in my brand-new series Magical Midlife Detectives, is now up for preorder!
It launches on July 18, and I finally get to show you the cover.
This series started as a bit of light-hearted fun while I was knee-deep in ancient Egyptian history, writing the Nephilim Quest books.
After all that research and hieroglyphs, my brain needed a break—preferably one involving wine, magical chaos, and women who don’t care if their superpowers come with hot flashes.
So, out popped the idea of a group of 40+ ladies stepping into their magical prime—detectives with attitude, spells, shapewear, and a strong opinion about red wine vs. white.
I originally wrote Magic Diary years ago and published the unedited version on my website just to see if readers would enjoy it. (Spoiler: they did.) I wrote the second book right after it, fully intending to publish them both… and then life waltzed in like a badly-behaved cat and knocked everything off the table.
Now it’s finally time.
Meet Nora: recently divorced, currently broke, and definitely not expecting to be recruited into a magical detective agency run by midlife women in wine-stained cardigans.
There’s a talking diary. A teacup-sized dragon. And possibly a very handsome shapeshifter.
She’s got magic, baggage, and backup.
If you’ve enjoyed Nephilim Quest, this one’s lighter, snarkier, and unapologetically magical.
And yes—this one’s especially for the women on my newslettr list (though the gents are absolutely welcome to tag along and laugh too).
📚 Magic Diary will be available exclusively through Kindle Unlimited (at least for now), so KU subscribers can read it for free. Everyone else can preorder the ebook now—
and yes, the paperback version will be available shortly after July 18 for those who prefer their magic in printed form.
With midlife mojo and a dash of chaos,
Leena ✨😉
